Labradors

Hand Selected, Personally Trained Service Labradors.

What We Do:

Seacoast Labradors is a selective breeding and training program located in the seacoast of Merrimac, MA.  Seacoast Labradors strives to highlight and honor the Labrador Retriever by maintaining its health, temperament, and trainability heritage, while selectively breeding for qualities that provide a great Service Dog.

Seacoast trains a few selected Labradors from each litter for Service Dog, Working Dog, and Facility Dog work, from scent detection to therapeutic support and task training. Train the Trainer is offered to those who are able to train their own Seacoast Labrador puppy to become a Service Dog, involving 10-12 months of partnered training by Seacoast Labradors until graduation.  Due to the developmental program designed by the Seacoast Labradors founder, all of the Seacoast Labradors puppies are successful at being trained to become working dogs.  The puppies who are not selected for Service Dog or working dog roles are matched with families and pet homes.

The breeding and training programs at Seacoast Labradors were created through research-based and established training guidelines to provide advanced obedience, calm and composed presence, and trained tasks in the work of the labrador.

Training is begun at the beginning/puppy level and continued through the advanced/adult level.  All Seacoast Labradors follow a one year training plan that includes Play and Problem-solving, Socialization, All Access, and Obedience.

At the end of that training year, these dogs move on to learn their tasks and/or scent detection work.  Seacoast Labradors relies heavily on healthily and ethically bred labradors, with a focus on longevity and immunity as well as clearances for known diseases within the breed.

Our dogs have high levels of Trainability, and high quality Temperament.

All litters for 2020 are fully reserved. Accepting waitlist deposits for 2021

What Our Clients Say

"Very Professional"

Seacoast Labs is the place to go!

Courtney and Cedar came into our school along with other grief counselors to provide support to our heartbroken community.  Faculty, staff and students alike were beneficiaries of Cedar’s calm, steady, silent support.

Courtney is very knowledgeable.  She truly loves the pups and takes great care of them, as well as exposing them to different kinds of stimuli right from the beginning. If you are looking for a beautiful, healthy puppy, Seacoast Labs is the place to go!

"Could Hear a Pin Drop"

She had two of the dogs with her and it was fascinating to see one of them pawing her gently to let her know her blood sugar was getting low.
